From the beginning of spring to the fall, no matter if it is a vegetable
garden, flower garden, lawn, or a border of shrubs, one can have those pesky unwanted visitors crop up…WEEDS!
Plentiful rain and warm weather have been great for our gardens to flourish, but the weeds have multiplied too in these conditions. Wendy Tremper Wollerton will share some tips about weed control, identification of weeds, and some once widely used ornamental planting that now are considered invasive to avoid planting.
Wendy is a former Horticulturist at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Dutchess County where she worked with Master Gardener volunteers, training them on how to identify plants, insects, and plant diseases for homeowners. She also attended the Gardening Program at the Cary Institute in Millbrook, NY.
